2. Why are you taking this class and what do you hope to learn
I'm taking the class because it's online, fits into my schedule, and provides learning opportunities for a newfound interest.

4. What do you think of when you think "California"? Does this differ from what non-Californians think and if so, how?
I think of the quaint town I moved to 38 years ago and how it's changed. The way it's grown, the different cultures it's attracted, and the northern Californian rocky shorelines and fog. I think of Malibu artist colonies and the ever-changing Haight-Ashbury.
Friends I left behind think of movie stars and Hollywood being at my doorstep, automatically assuming that anyone here is rich. A very different perception than mine.
